Riser Card 1U1FR (1U1FR-e1, 1U1FR-e4) and I/O card installation

Riser card 1U1FR (1U1FR-e1, 1U1FR-e4) is used to change the insert direction of I/O card to the slot of motherboard by 90 degrees. The I/O card is plugged into the riser card and resides parallel with the motherboard. The D17 case and 1U1FR (1U1FR-e1, 1U1FR-e4) riser card provide expansion for one I/O card. Picture at the left shows the PCI slots location on a 7-slots standard ATX form factor board (starting from the left): PCI slot-1, slot-2, slot-3, slot-4, slot-5, slot-6 and PCIe (or AGP) slot-7 (On a Micro ATX board, there are only PCI slot-4, slot-5, slot-6 and PCIe (or AGP) slot-7 ). The position of slot-6 corresponds with the horizontal cutouts of the D17 chassis. Keep in mind that your motherboard should have PCI (PCIe) slot-6 in order to provide riser card plugging. Also, keep in mind a safe space between components on top surface of I/O card and the cover of chassis. Use a non-conductive self-adhesive bumpone to prevent the I/O card from short-circuiting with the cover of the chassis.
Riser card is supplied as option, but it is advisable to order required riser card together with chassis.

Slide Rail Kit installation

The Slide Rail Kit is supplied together with the D17 chassis. Remove the D17 chassis from the packaging box and check that the Kit is included. The Kit consists of two symmetric Holders - left and right. Each Holder consists of two parts - Front Bracket (1) and Back Bracket (2). Slide together the front to back sections of the Holders as shown on the picture on the left. Extend the Holders to the length required to fit the rack or cabinet before you install it. The Kit supports rack fixing distance on depth L from 340mm to 639mm. Notify, there are two variants to join Back Bracket (A and B). Screw on appropriate nuts (3) (supplied with the Kit) to each bracket, and tighten the front and the back sections.

Install 8 cage nuts in the rack (not supplied with the Kit). Reffer to the picture on the left. You should install 4 cage nuts (red marked) and tighten the both Holders with 3 appropriate screws for EACH SIDE of the rack (left and right). You need to tighten 6 screws total.
Note! Please make sure the salient side of each Holder (left and right) is in the opposite position in the rackmount.

Slide the D17 based system with fastened cover along the pre-installed Holders in the suitable rack. Tighten the other 2 screws on the opposite side of the front panel where it attaches to the rack.
